Main Street (built 1909). Even sub-standard plastic party chairs, disgruntled government employees, and a poorly constructed snack bar can't stop the Via Rail Station from being one of the most spectacular interior spaces in the city.
Note: I was once one of those disgruntled government employees, so I'm allowed to say that.

Gorgeous image of a beautiful building. A couple of thoughts crossed my mind while gazing at it:
-The roof beams above the rotunda are really showing through the ceiling plaster. It wasn't like that a few years ago... I hope everything is OK up there.
-The place still feels like a transportation hub even though it will soon be down to 8 trains a week in there.
-The place has been nicely restored over the years although there are some head-scratchers, like the fact that Poppers Cafe and Deli is still there. That was originally a Cara Shop built some 35 years ago back when CN did nothing but modern design on all fronts even if it didn't mesh with the surroundings. It's probably time to yank it out of there.
-It would be great if Union Station became a transit hub.
-While I'm daydreaming, it would also be great if that ugly parking lot nearby where the Empire Hotel once stood was finally filled in with something.
The building definitely deserves to be a center of activity of one sort or another; becoming a transit hub would be amazing. Poetic justice for a building that has pretty much been neglected for the better part of two decades.
